The fishing rod is arguably the most important piece of angling gear any fisherman can have, and even with a different style of fishing like carp fishing, this still holds true. The responsiveness of the rod will determine how enjoyable the fight is, but too much of it at a low weight can make it very difficult to catch the truly trophy carp out there. There are a wide range of actions available, and even the “middle” groups – such as having a middle to heavy action, or a light to middle action rod so you don’t have to choose just one or the other. Many carpers like to have a medium action rod or medium to heavy action.
